Flavia C. Peréa

Flavia is the founding Director of the Mindich Program for Engaged Scholarship, housed in the Phillips Brooks House Center for Public Service and Engaged Scholarship. As Director she works with Harvard faculty, students, administrators, and community partners to develop and implement community-collaborative curricular innovations employing critically engaged pedagogy. Through her work she is committed to linking academics, inquiry, and action to advance social equity through partnerships, community-academic collaboration, and student engagement. Flavia holds a PhD in Social Policy from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, and a MS degree in Education from the Bank Street College of Education. She completed her postdoctoral research and training at Wellesley College. A former K-8 teacher and health and human services program administrator from NYC, she has taught undergraduate and graduate students since 1999.
