# COVID-19: Six Ways You Can Stay Engaged

Inspired by our student volunteers, we are highlighting several ways for the Harvard community to remotely support critical community needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most importantly, please follow all public health guidelines to protect yourself and others. More information and resources can be found on [Harvard University’s Coronavirus webpage](https://www.harvard.edu/coronavirus).

**Many communities are still in critical need of assistance. In addition to signing up for [Harvard Serves Everywhere](/harvardserveseverywhere), here are six ways you can stay engaged:**

1. Supporting your neighborhood [mutual aid network](https://www.mutualaidhub.org/) (these networks use social media to collaboratively meet community needs)
2. Donating blood through [your local Red Cross chapter](https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive)
3. Seeking virtual volunteer opportunities through [your local food bank](https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank), [Meals on Wheels](https://meals-on-wheels.com/volunteer), or opportunities listed on [VolunteerMatch](https://www.volunteermatch.org/covid19) (your local school district or senior center may also have virtual programming needs)
4. Mentoring K-12 students virtually through [CovEd](http://www.coved.org/) or [EduMate NYC](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScFo1Pw4PJfvCqQL1GIp0ol28AbRl5y4nDShWAkG300CNtiPA/viewform), two matching platforms designed by students from Harvard in collaboration with other schools
5. Reaching out to [our staff advising team](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSetfvZQO8_-RYSjf_5u6idDSRSCZ62xcEsVyoTweri8MKp2CQ/viewform) to connect with community partners and alums
