 Alene graduated from Harvard College in 2010 and spent three years at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), before attending Harvard Law School. After that, Alene clerked for a federal judge, and worked at the Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Good Food Institute. Next, Alene founded a litigation nonprofit called Legal Impact for Chickens.
