She grew up in New York City and is passionate both about mathematics as a subject and as a field. For this reason, equity in mathematics and science is an important cause. Raihana hopes to take action on the inequalities that people of minority identities face in the scientific field. She has volunteered for multiple years at Girls Learning Advanced Math, an organization that increases middle school girls' confidence in mathematics and currently serves as the director of their operations in Boston.
