Abby Zachary

Abby Zachary is a first-year student at Harvard College interested in studying economics, government, and history. Abby is a Co-Founder of Rhizome, a national nonprofit

organization that trains high school students to build civic literacy campaigns, empowers youth to make themselves heard, and invites personal reflection within close-knit communities. Prior to her work with Rhizome, Abby was an Ambassador Fellow with My School Votes, where she conducted voter registration and voter education outreach ahead of the 2020 elections. Additionally, Abby dedicated ten months of her life to service with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, through which she worked with food banks across California, social service organizations in the Sacramento area, and environmental nonprofits outside of Portland, Oregon to aid communities across the west coast. Abby is excited to continue to explore her passion for service, and more importantly, help her fellow first-years realize their own role in service, through her involvement with the First-Year Council.
