Pathways to Practice

Harvard College is deeply committed to creating life-long pathways for students to stay civically engaged and approximately 20 percent of our graduates pursue careers in public service.  Each summer, Harvard College funds over 500 students to public interest work through non-profit, political, and scholarly pursuits. To engage students considering public interest work after they graduate, Harvard College organizes an annual Public Service Recruiting Day every October, where leading public service employers interview graduating seniors for post-graduate work during a time when mostly private sector firms interview students on campus.  Students who receive financial aid also have access to funding to offset interview costs for public interest jobs.
