Eduardo Vasconcelos Goyanna Filho

Former House Public Service Representative (2022-2023)
Kirkland House
Eduardo Vasconcelos Goyanna Filho is a sophomore at Harvard College, and he is pursuing a double concentration in Government and Economics. Originally from Brasília, Brazil, Eduardo’s life was very influenced by his close contact with gun violence and its effect on kids and teenagers. Coming from a public school in Brazil, Eduardo worked at Rio de Janeiro’s Department of Education as a public policy leader responsible for solving a looting crisis in the network of 1544 public schools. Furthermore, he was the Youth Congressman of his state in the National Youth Parliament and co-founded the first National Debating Competition in Brazil, primarily for low-income students. In the summer, he was a counselor at the Association to Benefit Children in NYC’s East Harlem, working directly with kids who suffered traumas. Nowadays, he contributes to the School Violence Emergency Committee of the Federal District’s Government and leads the government program Youth Leaders in Peacebuilding. On campus, he has been an active member of the Institute of Politics, currently serving as a liaison to the former Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven and having served as a liaison to the public policy expert Holly Kuzmich. Also, he is a board member of HACIA Democracy, the world’s largest simulation of the Organization of American States. In service roles, he volunteered on the street team of the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter. As the public service representative of Kirkland, Eduardo hopes to build an even more equitable, just, and supportive environment at the House that he loves to call home.
