Farah Afify is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House from Sterling Heights, Michigan. She plans to concentrate in Social Studies with a language citation in Arabic. On campus, she is involved with the Phillips Brooks House Association as an officer and directs PBHA's Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment After School Program through which she tutors children from refugee and immigrant backgrounds. Farah also currently serves as the Intersectionality Co-Chair on Act on a Dream, an immigration reform and advocacy group, and works at the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative, where she supports students of low socioeconomic backgrounds. Last summer, she worked with the government relations team at Amnesty International, where she learned more about the intersection of government and advocacy.
