Priya Thelapurath (she/her) is a junior in Lowell House pursuing a joint concentration in Sociology and Computer Science. She was born and raised in Bentonville, Arkansas and is passionate about public service work related to education. From providing afterschool programming focused on empowering young women in rural communities through LOUDwomen to working with young people in Boston's South End through Keylatch, she is dedicated to engaging in and learning about community-based youth work. As a first-year, she served on the public service first-year council, participated in the SPARK program, and got involved with PBHA. She is currently serving as the President of PBHA and a co-director for the Keylatch Afterschool Program. Through her service work, she hopes to address educational inequities through inclusive policy and direct work with young people and families. Priya also enjoys spending her time dancing on the Harvard College Bhangra team, volunteering at Y2Y, and watching TV shows with her friends!
