Karen is a sophomore living in Cabot house. She was born and raised in Boston, MA and is planning to concentrate in Government with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migrations, Rights. She is the oldest daughter of Nicaraguan immigrants and is passionate about public service. As a first year she served on the public service first- year council and was a participant of Harvard's SPARK program. Currently, she is a member of the Institute of Politics where she is part of the Politics of Race and Ethnicity program and the Fellow & Study Groups program. She is passionate about youth education and leadership and for this reason she is a junior director for the Harvard Model Congress conference and an assistant director of workshops and speakers for the Latina Empowerment & Development conference. When not busy with her classes and extracurricular she enjoys netflix, dancing, and traveling.
